Teddie,

I hope you'll forgive me for jumping in on this.

There is Indoor ICE speedskating on Sundays at noon and Wednesday evenings starting at 7:30 pm for all you folks looking to hammer off the bike during winter.
It's at the Mountainview Ice Arena on Mill Plain Boulevard in Vancouver. Need to do base miles? Ride your bike to the rink!

Get yer pivot on!!

Teddie,
Not to worry, This is totally ON TOPIC since speed skating is one of the very best cross training activities for cyclists. So you see you have helped all of us get a jump on our winter training. Maybe you have some info on indoor speed skating that we might be able to join in on. Thanks, Steve

Me, of all people, a stickler for following rules, and I accidentally put my OT message about the free skating lessons on the sanctimonious OBRA Race list, which, by the way, bugs me that that particular list doesn't get used to its fullest potential by a number of race promoters, and I did, actually, mention the word "race" in my post, so theoretically it could be considered properly placed. Of course, anybody I P.O.'d probably stays away from OBRA Chat and won't know I'm apologizing. Oh, well.

If you didn't see it, here's the announcement:

OBRA people, if you or anyone you know would like to learn to inline skate, a certified instructor is offering weekly free lessons. Please read below to learn more. Note that she has a requirement to preregister.

And in case you don't already know it, if you are an intermediate-level skater or above, join the speedskaters for races on Monday nights at PIR. Our gun goes off at 5:45 pm. Helmet required! $7
