First of all, thanks again to everyone who came out and participated in the 2006 Mount Hood Cycling Classic. Perhaps next year we'll finally get the weather right!

One of our local riders from the Masters field, Marty Burke, is missing a Ksyerium wheel. If you have this wheel or know where it might be, please contact me. Marty is part of the team that puts this race together and it's a major bummer that someone took his wheel. I know that Michael O'Hair and Mike Murray hate this, but I put a black rear Equation Road wheel with a 12-25 10spd cassette in the back of the OBRA van. Perhaps this is actually your wheel and we can get Marty's back.

This would be a good time to remind everyone of what Mike has said before in the past about wheels. If the race announcement says "Wheel lottery," you need to make sure you bring an extra set. If your number is drawn, you have to provide a set, borrow a buddy's, or pay a fine. This is why you should bring in your training wheels, your rain wheels, your tough cross wheels with road tires. Don't check in your $1000 extra race wheels. We had a hard time coming up with enough wheels, especially since neutral vehicles are still trying to cover 9 and 10 speed Shimano and Campy. That means support cars need 4 different rear wheels to cover any possibilty, and that's only if we only have one flat of each type of wheel. I wonder what SRAM spacing will be . . .
