Heh you could try one of the 15 to 20 ? or so motels on N Interstate Ave. Ok so you dont' believe there is that many in just that couple-of-mile stretch ? start counting them on your way from downtown to PIR... Ok most are quite scary, but I think one or two of them is somewhat decent. the the max train is right there and 10/15 minute ride gets you downtown.

Oh also there is the White Eagle. it too is right on the Yellow line close in...

Mmm or the Jupiter motel. Right next to the Dougy Fir lounge, and also not far from Union Jacks, where couples are welcome..

Hi OBRAland,

my wife loves Portland and her birthday is this weekend, so I thought I
might take her there for at least an overnight. any recommendations on a
good place to stay? we're on a budget, but it is her bday, so I'd like
something nice. anything unique and super cool that we should be sure to do
when we're there?

sorry this isn't cycling related, but cyclists are my peeps so I turn to you
all for advice ;-) I'd be grateful for any help.
