OBRA Championship Road Race - July 1st

Richard, Have you considered that the women's masters field mayl be relatively small as is? I was one of the people who suggested that the masters do a shorter race, but I hadn't thought the price of that would be creating smaller women's packs than there typically are already. Perhaps that is not a price worth paying.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] OBRA Championship Road Race - July 1st

Last few notes,

Numbers, on the right and center of the back

Senior race, there has been some questions on who can race, any category can race (1-4) as long as you are over 18 years old.

Feed zone, there is a feed zone but I have not been able to get anyone willing to commit the resources (numbre of people) to do it neutral, so you will have to have someone there to hand you a bottle. It will be on the steeper climb on Warthan, like at the rehearsal.

Masters riders, we are working to get the field split into two groups. We are still waiting on word back from the officials to see if we have the people to do so. If we can get the official and lead/follow drivers together than we will split out the 40-49 into a seperate race from the 50-59 & 60+.

So come on out and give the day a go, weather is suppose to be great and the racing will be hot.

Richard

PS> I will probably be away from email for the rest of the evening. If it is urgent you can call.

Just a few more days to go for the biggest appointment of the year, who will be crowned the next OBRA State Champion in the Senior Men's race? It's a wide open race and a great course, come on down to Eugene for a great day of racing and test your legs.

The older juniors, 15/16 & 17/18, are being increased a lap, from 2 to 3 laps, so about 34 miles total.

The jury is still out on the Masters Women, email Candi your opinion so we can get it settled before race day.

Remember from Portland it takes a good 2 to 2 1/2hrs depending on traffic. It is a holiday weekend so watch for those State Troopers looking to make their quota on the holiday speedsters.

Time to Ride,
Richard
