September of '05 , OBRA members
carry on a lengthy discussion about the need for late summer road races.
Three Rivers Racing has listened!
Radisys Corporation , Hillsboro, Oregon, is proud
to present the inaugural edition of the Three Rivers Racing
Woodland Road Race
August 20th, Woodland, WA

Prizes up to 10 deep, a course designed for everyone, free Hincapie cycling
socks for every entrant, and a late summer date, just like you asked for.

With the blessings of PrestoVelo (organizers of The Piece of Cake road race)
we are using the 2006 Piece of Cake route to lead into an uphill finish.
Please see the flyer for updated profile information, the flyer available
prior to August had an alternate elevation profile.
The course offers something for everyone:
-Climbers: Just look how the race goes up at the end
-Power climbers: The climb isn't that long, just power up that hill
-Sprinters: Sprint points mean you don't have to be fastest up the hill to
win the race
-All rounders: Get away on the flats, rack up some hot spot points, power
up that hill
-Teams: Take the sprint points from the sprinters so your climber can win,
protect your climber until the end, get someone in a break. The exposed flat
lands may offer field splitting winds.
-Slow pokes: It's flat until the end, hang in there and hit the climb with
a big group.

We hope to see you out there.

Quotes from the OBRA Chat community:
"It would be nice to have a road race in the summer when the weather is
good."
"strategically place a few road races and crits in the July and August
months"
"I think we would all prefer to ride when the roads are dry and the air is
warm."
"There need to be a couple of single day races in August or maybe July."
"the race calendar is too heavily skewed towards road races in the early
season. It would be nice to have a one day road race in the late summer or
early fall."
"it will ultimately depend on the riders 'voting' with their entry fees by
choosing when they want to attend events."
