Hi everyone,
Yesterday was another fun night of short track racing at PIR. We counted 150 racers of all ages - from 8-year old junior riders Brock Emry and Camden Morey all the way to 60-year old Sport rider Ed Barker - plus about another 20 kiddie racers. 27 riders raced the series for the very first time and everyone seemed to have a blast. Lots of spectators too, including an all-female makeshift drum band that was cheering on the racers under the trees. Very cool!
The preliminary results of Monday's races are posted at http://www.portlandracing.com. I also updated the series standings which now include Monday's results.
This coming Sunday (Aug 13) is our final day of short track racing. Races will be take place from 9:30am through noon, followed by awards and our grand series raffle. We should be all done by 2pm, so still plenty of time to enjoy the rest of your Sunday (on or off the bike). Our course designers are planning to dish up another crazy twist on all the fun courses we've been throwing at you during the last five weeks. I would encourage everyone to come out and race, even if you haven't raced any of the previous Monday night short track races. And if you don't feel for racing, there is a good time to be had watching the spectacle and cheering on the racers!
Hope to see you all on Sunday!
~Kris
