Southern Oregon and the Willamette Valley have traditionally had a challenging time gettting a good turnout for their events and have routinely heard the grumblings for MANY years when these areas have a Championship event. I have always really felt for those promoters as they take a big chance at low attendance and money loss when they put on their races. They also have traditionally had GREAT courses, lower traffic and safer roads, and really well-run races and those that make the trip are glad they do so!

Frankly, the Portland area is very spoiled...so many great races (especially mid-wk) and not used to really having to travel! If you are really a racer, you make the trip! The rest of the state, of course, travels to Portland area all the time to race! So, anyway...support good races and take a chance occasionally by making the long trip would be my advice!
