How does one respond to something like this, first and foremost I have to say Thank You to OBRA, Candi, the official?s, other promoter?s and all the racers for making 2006 a great year for racing in Oregon, and Cross hasn?t even started yet. It wouldn?t be the same without all of the people involved.
As to the WVC & the $$ still owed to the racers who participated in the event and the sponsor who hasn?t paid. I can?t and won?t say who the sponsor is because it really wasn?t the companies fault, it was a representative that isn?t with them anymore making promises that I believed that couldn?t be fulfilled. I will say that the companies are working with me, off an on, to try and do something but it is becoming a long and drawn out process.
Yes lessoned learned, as were many this year.
I really appreciate all the support, criticism, comments, etc? My team and I put on a total of 14 events this year and we are proud of all of them.
I won?t make any excuses, or ask for sympathy from anyone on what is happening with the WVC. I had a lot of problems before and after the event with governing bodies and participants. I still think it was and is a great event.
The matter of payout is my responsibility and I am trying to resolve it, I have not been very good about letting all those that won prizes know what is happening and I apologize for that. When it gets all worked out they will be the first to know. Until then keep riding your bike and having fun.
Best regards,
