The last promoter of the Tour of Willamette lost nearly $10,000.00 promoting an established race. The costs are brutal.

Races cost a lot of money to put on and the bigger
they are the more the bills.
Plus since the WVC was being relaunched there were I
am sure a ton of start up cost.
None of us are getting rich promoting. I make an
average of $ 500-$ 1,500 a race not a lot when you
figure the time you put into the events.
I am sure there are some long time events, where the
promoter does make OK money, but the WVC could not
have with all the start up cost and getting burned by
a sponsor at the same time.
