KGW Poll

As of 11:38 PM KGW has an unscientific poll up about:

"What's the best way to promote better shared use of our roads?"
Options are:
1. Motorists need to be more aware of bikes
2. Bikes need to be better following traffic laws
3. Our roads need to be designed better for shared use
4. All of the above

Currently, #2 is in the lead.

Visit www.kgw.com and vote.

If I had to choose up or down, I'd say up because I have some libertarian
leanings meaning if you're insane enough to ride 84, (I know at least one
messenger who used to do a short stretch) then you have my blessing. It's
probably pretty safe when traffic is averaging 20 mph during rush hours
anyway. I personally would never do it unless maybe the transmission on my
Astro van detonated and I had my bike in the van. I've rode 26 west but
didn't get on or off until at least the 6 turn off.
What is it with Lars, anyway? Is cyclists on the freeway a big problem? I do
about a thousand miles a week around town and I gotta say, cyclists on the
road or freeways is way far down my list of complaints!

Is this a reflection of the non-cyclists out there? Rule by the
majority does not produce a democratic society. We must have the
compassion and intelligence to create a society that allows liberty and
equality for individuals and minorities. Someday I hope individually
driven cars is a minority. As this act is violating other's freedom
through environmental devastation. We should have a bullet train from
Vancouver to Los Angeles.

With all the environmental destruction and wild weather. The question
must be "should cars be allowed to use the interstate?"
