WOW, do not make me think of that. I should have my very supportive
wife post. (Luckily she has aspirations to race again) I put in over
2000 miles going to corvallis and in the forest and with one or two
people mark, clear and get the course ready, build new trails. I use 4
vacation days from work on Mudslinger, 3 days for table rock and 4 for
TOE. It's a nice break from work though and I race and enjoy all the
racers who I have met over 16 years. I am working on the Mudslinger
from September until race day. Spend 100's of hours on sponsors,
organization---ect. The best thing is that I have done it for 12 years
and put on almost 20 events over that time so it seems easier. If I
have enough to buy a new bike every other year or take my family on
vacation then great. Last year I drove over 1500 miles+ alone to put on
the Test Of Endurance and my Head gasket just blew so maybe that race
just broke even and I thought I made 500.00 this year.
Anyway thats my take and my goal is to get the Mudslinger back to mid
90's race participation and the TOE even bigger, but of course I will
just keep doing my best because I am addicted and to quote Jim Fisher "
A dying Breed" I like that title.
