Approximately 1.1 miles from Skyline Rd as you descend toward Hwy 30 the
road gets slippery. At around 5:20 or so this afternoon Germantown was
closed to all traffic due to a gas or oil spill. An absorbent material was
put down and the road is open but it is still slick.
While riding up Germantown this evening to get to my parked car (I parked
when the road was closed and rode the rest of the way to PIR) I came across
a cyclist who had slid off the road at the end of the slippery area. As I
continued up the hill my back tire was slipping when I stood and pedaled.
Be careful out there.
