Why Race?
It's supposed to be 85 and mostly sunny.
Not many places in Oregon to climb for 15 miles at about 6%.
It's the hill climb Championships.
If you ride a MTB you get Championships this year.
If you ride a MTB there is some kick ass down hill afterward.
You need the money! Glen Gann put up $100 to anyone who can break the Road course record, heck I'll add another $100 to make it $200. Time to beat 1:28:49.
You want to help that guy get the money or at least be a part of the record.
That guy/gal in your category is racing and you need the BAR points to keep him/her from passing you.
I'm a sprinter and even I have done it, several times.
