Hood River CCX - this Sunday!

Kick off the 'cross season in style in Hood River for the Fifth Annual Hood River Cyclocross Classic! Forecast is for 77 degrees and sunny. We've had just enough rain to damp down the dust and the course is in primo shape.

We had to make some changes to the course this year due to the fact that the bridges were removed. Just today a local landowner very graciously agreed to let us race through his property. I implore all of you to do your part to help us protect this venue. Please do not ride on the athletic fields. Please do not litter. Please use the Port-A-Potties. Be respectful of the private landowner (the course goes right past his front porch and through the yard of his rental house).

Bring your family out and enjoy all that Hood River has to offer. Take a scenic drive on the Old Highway, tour the orchards on the Fruit Loop, head up to Lost Lake, or just check out the boutiques downtown (and our sponsor, Discover Bicycles!). It's only an hour drive from Portland.

We have medals for the top three in all categories and I'll be pulling two race numbers from each race for a entry-fee refund (12 refunds total). All "profits" from this race will be donated to the Hood River Valley High School Cross Country team to help with trail maintainance and bridge replacement. Watch this list next week for my full financial report.

See you on Sunday!

Jeff
