This past year we put on a Tuesday night series at Alpenrose Velodrome for Junior's and Master's racers. We offered free entry to any junior racer that needed it. We did not receive one request for funding the entire year. I sent out numerous posts to this list to make sure that everyone was aware of the offer. I was a little disappointed that the kids we were trying to reach were not reached. We did, however, have plenty of great racing for junior's and that was a big goal of ours too.
So this year we are offering to pay for the Wednesday night track class for any junior racer that wants to get involved in racing at the velodrome for the entire month of May, 2007. This includes bike rental.
We will also be paying for the entry fee for All JUNIOR'S for the entire 2007 season at the Tuesday Night Junior's and Master's Series. That's right, it is free for juniors to race at Alpenrose on Tuesday nights during our June, July and August season, including bike rental for those without their own track bike.
Hopefully this will allow those kids that have been held back by a lack of funds to come on out and enjoy racing at the track. Start passing the word now.
Master's racing will continue and I am looking forward to another fantastic year. It is because of the enthusiastic response from so many Master's that this offer is possible and I thank all of you for your support and can't wait to get started next year.
