For those of you that do not know. The manual method that we use to score
ccx is to have multiple scorers along the finish writing down rider numbers
on each lap. We then enter then into the computer so that I have a file of
each race that shows every rider's position behind the leader on every lap.

We had anticipated about 100 rider in each round. In the B/SS category we
had 160+. So there were multiple times when the scorers missed riders.
This was reflected in the total number of laps that the rider did.

MIke and I went home after the race and looked at the photo finish camera.
Obviously number placement was crucial. But we recorded every rider, for
every lap and tried to compare it to the manual notes.

Some problems we had were:

- riders with numbers on the wrong side

-riders that registered in one category but rode in another

- more riders that picked up senior numbers but rode in the masters.

-Numbers that were high on the back or in the center of the back.

-Riders sitting up or blocking their number with their arms.

-Riders who's hair was blocking their numbers.

-Riders who ran in but did not show up clearly on the film.

I would be so happy if the chip system worked flawlessly, but it did not. So
this is what you have. You can help by making sure your number is on
correctly. If you line up with riders that have different numbers than you,
then you are in the wrong field. You can ask for the file and help me
review that we placed you all correctly.

In many parts of the country, ccx only scores the top 15. Or they pull lap
riders. We do not do that here, we try to place everyone every race. Yes
there will be problems, but you can help, please do.
