Good idea to get a group effort at preventing this. At the mininium is

convincing them to use the smaller rock.



Thanks for posting this URL. Here are some more, and the email

addresses of the Board Commissioners. They're voting on the road

maintenence program, including all of this work, in the Tuesday

evening meeting. I'm planning to write to my commissioner, John

Leeper, and to Dick Schouten (a well known bicycle advocate and

commissioner) to ask for a finer grade of chip seal, and for funds

to be dedicated to testing and fixing signal sensors around the county,

since many don't detect bicycles.



Write your commissioner often. They really do listen! And feel free to

call the road maintenance department and chat with folks out there.

Ask questions about chip sealing options. Maybe they just don't

appreciate that the current techniques aren't bicycle-friendly.
