Mt. Tabor crash-dogs

Yes ALL dogs must be on a leash at Mt. Tabor. And

because of the self designated "dog area" near the

soapbox derby track, we've had at least one marshal

there and signs posted on both sides of the crossing

in an effort to prevent such mishaps.

The "owner" who appeared oblivious and out of it,

originally entered the park on a main trail marked

with a sign and let his dog run ahead of. We yelled at

him to leash the dog and get it off course. They

crossed the road and went up the hill and that was the

last we corner marshals saw of him until we heard the

crash a few minutes later further around the turn.

Evidently his dog took off again and ran into the path

of the racers. Instead of grabbing the dog, he chased

it all over the course causing other near misses and

it took other spectators and corner marshals to help

him catch the dog.

The dog in question survived only to be drug

angrily(like it was the dogs fault???!) by the collar

all the way down the trail as obviously had had NO

leash for it. I think we all know who should have been

drug by the collar down that trail!
