Velodrome idea in Oregonian

Not a rumor I had spoke and continue to lobby for space at the memorial, as
well as prompt tent ideas for the track we already have . Cost is stiill a
factor Memorial would rather have a calender minus events then budge on the
price. Someone out there has to know a buddy at the leasing office .The time
is perfect with three indoor facilities all on the west coast yje series
possibilties are endless. There can never be to much discussion on this
topic remember this was Americas largest sport a century ago with purses in
todays economy worth millions. Sorry roadies outside of crits it is still
the most exciting racing.

Wasn't there another rumor some time ago about making the Memorial Coliseum
a multi-sport venue that included an indoor velodrome?

Did I dream it or read it? Have a bmx course, velodrome, skateboard...You
could have retailiers inside, food court and all that good stuff that comes
with sport. Just none of that lame basketball & football stuff ; )

How about we just put a roof over Alpenrose?

What would be better than that would be tons of people donating a little
money to get the project of the ground ;).

I know it's just a small little rumor and idea at this point, but I
noticed Jonathan Nicholas's column in the O this morning was about a
developer (and competitive track racer) wants to have an indoor
facitlity in Portland.

maybe if tons of people leave comments this idea might just find some
legs! stranger things have happened!

(p.s. I apologize if this has already been discussed a lot on the OBRA
list.)

maybe if tons of people leave comments this idea might just find some legs! stranger things have happened!

(p.s. I apologize if this has already been discussed a lot on the OBRA list.)
