Kruger's Crossing '06 - Thanks!

What a great way to wrap up the season...

Thanks everyone for coming out yesterday to race, cheer on others, and enjoy a beautiful fall day! Per our latest count, we had close to 350 racers and another 30+ kiddie racers... Is nice. We like!

We are still plugging away on the results, which we plan to post on Thursday morning. In the meantime, enjoy the cool pictures that Jonathan, Shane and and Don posted on their web sites (see the previous three OBRA postings for links to their sites). They definitely are all worth checking out!

Also, another BIG THANKS to...

- Clif Bar, Chris King, Trek and Bontrager, for their support and some very nice prices.
- Salvador Molly's for the great food (and beer, and wine...)
- Terri, Brian and the rest of the OBRA gang, who helped make the races go smooth "like buttah". (okay, in the maze it was more like peanut butter...)
- Splinter - the voice of Oregon bike racing - for getting all those muddy racers' names straight, all day long.
- Don Kruger and the friendly staff at Kruger's Farm. Don very much loved what he saw - on and around the course - and he told me he already looks forward to next year's edition. Drop by his farm store whenever you're around Sauvie Island and check out the many other fun activities he hosts at the farm throughout summer and fall (all details at krugersfarmmarket.com).

Finally, a big SHOUT to Erik Haunold and the volunteers of Team Veloshop, who helped out all weekend with set-up, registration, parking, lap counting, first aid, course marshaling, the kiddie race and clean-up. You all did an awesome job. What a team!

So there we had it. Kruger's Crossing will be back next year, bigger and even better (and we'll do our best to make the course a bit more deraileur-friendly). Time now to relax, enjoy your holidays and and get ready for next year's race season!

Cheers!

~Kris
