By the way, for those of you who have not done Super D, it is a blast. Randy's course at Willamette Pass is a lot of fun. And when you are done, you can use the gondola and keep riding the rest of the day!
Yeah, a lot of us XC-types think people who use the lift are a bunch of pansies, but if you are going to a hill that has one, you might as well enjoy it.
Oh, and Tita Soriano:
I tried to email you but it did not go through. Would you consider pushing the Ashland 12-Mile Super D back a couple weeks? Your race is scheduled the same day as one of the XC races up here at Mt Hood. I did your race last year and had a great time, and I'd like to do it again this year. But when I compare the drive time to that of going to Mt Hood to race, I'll bet that most people in the Portland area will go to Mt Hood. I've told a lot of people about that race and I'd like to get more people from up north to attend it. I'll have an awful hard time doing that when there is another race locally.
Would you consider moving the race to a later date? There are not other mtn bike races the weekend of July 21/22. I'd suggest July 7/8 but that is the Alpenrose Challenge weekend and that will also likely keep some mtn bikers up here. The more people that consider going, the better the chance we have of carpooling, which might get even more people to do it.
Please consider a date change. I'd love to have more competition next year rather than less.
Evan

Subject: Re: [OBRA Chat] race classes
Hi All
I making my own DH plates to save OBRA money and
because my sponsors offered to help pay for
them...since petr/hood are now norba only for DH and I
am the only other DH series...seems like a waste to
have obra buy DH plates.
I use XC plates for Super D, as I have the past two
years...many more XC then DH racers do the Super
D's...not that there are many people period, but hope
that will change this year.
Mike Ripley the OBRA mt bike rep also said I should
use XC plates for Super D.
As far as classes go, that will depend on whom is
racing. It will most likely be the following based on
the past. IF there are say 25 people or more in a
class I will add age classes like 19-39 and 40 plus.
