The story:
The frame was a demo frame from the company formerly known as Kinesis USA (they were an OEM frame & component manufacturer that was located in Portland which eventually acquired Mountain Cycle which has now been sold and moved. - Anyway, they built frames for a bunch of big name companies.
This frame was a demo frame that was probably used for showing off their frame building prowess at trade shows. etc. I won the frame a few years ago in a raffle and I built it up as a Single speed (Though it's actually a geared frame) using an eccentric rear hub for chain tension. The bike has never been built up with deraileurs or cables (except for V-brakes).
The frame was one of many bikes in my stable and has been primarily used for riding around town, a few mountain bike rides in forest park and even a couple short track races last summer. It has a few minor blemishes but in overall great shape as there has never been any deraileurs or deraileur cables installed. This is a great frame to build up as a rigid mountain bike or even a dirt jumper.

FS White Industries SS Eric's eccentric ENO wheelset (26 inch) is still for sale for $200 if you are interested in building up a Single Speed (either with the frameset above or with your own). The hub is flip/flop so you can ride it fixed if fixed gear mtn biking floats your boat.
