USA Cycling Announces a Power Based Training Clinic for Seattle, WA.
USA Cycling will be hosting a power based training clinic February 10-11,
2007 at the Herriott Sports Performance Center at the Institute of New
Medicine ( www.herriottsportsperformance.com) in Seattle, WA. The
clinicinstructors will be USA Cycling certified coaches Hunter Allen
and Stephen
McGregor, Ph.D. Hunter is one of the authors of Training and Racing with a
Powermeter. The clinic will include lectures and discussions on the
different powermeters on the market, the physiological basis for training
using power, interpreting the power data, adjusting training based on
powerdata and using a powermeter in a race.
While the clinic is geared to coaches working with athletes, anyone is
invited to attend. The course can be useful for anyone currently training
with a powermeter or thinking about purchasing one to improve his/her
training and performance.
Dr. McGregor and Coach Allen are both experienced coaches who have been
training cyclists (and triathletes) using a powermeter for many years. In
addition to having a theoretical slant, the clinic has more
pragmatic/applied information.
The clinic will go from at 9am to 6pm on February 10 and 8:30am to 2pm on
February 11. A registration form is included. Space is limited to the first
18 people who register.
