Folks,

The Cherry Pie is just over a week away and I wanted to send out a few updates:

The website is:
http://www.willamettevalleycycling.com/cherry_pie/cherry_pie.html

Please check for updates there periodically before the race...just in case anything new comes up.

Staging is at the High School again like last year. Parking will be in the main lot while we will stage the racers just south of registration (different parking lot).

Please do not park in any other parking lots...stay in the school lot, along the main street, or in the county park lot 200 yds to the east. Do not block driveways. Do not park in the church lot. Do not park in the old registration venue (Valley Catering).

Prizes this year will be cash for all fields, not just the PM session. Values are posted on the flyer/website.

Rumors of road damage are exaggerated. I drove the course yesterday and the asphalt is in fine shape. However, if you stray over the fog line, there are a few spots along the river(s) where the shoulder is about 12-24" lower than the pavement, so ride your CCX tires if you plan to do some off-roading in these areas.

If you want to see how the fields are filling up, check the OBRA site at:
https://obra.org/events/20328/registrations

The fields to watch are the Cat5 (A&B). Limit is 50 each and they usually fill up.

Finally, in support of the OBRA junior development effort, Jon Nigbor has fronted cash to buy water bottles whose proceeds will go to the OBRA junior development effort. You will very soon be able to purchase these 24 oz Specialized bottles when you register for the event.

See you Sunday, 2/19!

Hey folks,

I just wanted to give you a quick update.

As of yesterday, we have over 100 folks registered for the race. Fields that are likely to fill soonest are the Cat 4/5 40+ and the Cat 5 fields. If you are interested in racing these fields don't wait too long. These fields filled up along with the Cat 4s and a few others.

Registration is indoors across the street from the Adair County Park (where we did registration last year).

Parking - You may park in the Adair County Parking area, along Arnold Ave or in the Santiam Christian High School Parking lot on Arnold. Do NOT park in the Valley Catering parking area.

Staging - We will be staging in the Valley Catering parking lot, so that's why we can't have any cars in there.

The first mile or so of the race is neutral out to Independence Hwy. We'll make sure the Lead drivers get the word. ;-)

If you'd like to register online, you may do so at the link below. You may do so up til Saturday night before the race.

Forecast is for decent temps with the possibility of rain, but no snow or ice.

See you in a week!

The Cherry Pie is just around the corner and things are coming together
nicely.

We've got about 80 people signed up already between online and mail-in
registration.

We will likely see the 3s 4s and 5s fill up. Field limits are 100, 75
and 50, respectively.

There is no second 4s or 5s field this year, so if you're racing those
fields, you should register soon.

Info is posted at:
http://www.eugenecyclingteam.com/Cherry_Pie/cherry_pie_main.html
You'll find course info (map, elevation profile and driving directions),
flier and the mail-in registration form.

If you want to register online, go to:
https://www.sportsbaseonline.com/Item.aspx?item_id=1354
The fee is real reasonable and is much easier for us to deal with.

T-Shirts are very cool this year! We're ordering the shirts based on
pre-reg sales and we're being conservative about race day sales. If you
want one, don't wait until race day or they may be gone.

Besides, race day reg. will incur an extra $5 fee, so register now and
put that towards a shirt!

Safe riding and we'll see you on the 18th!
