And IIRC, Dan Connally (NoCaNev cyclsit and Stanford EE geek) has
developed an opensource tool to uses Polar HRMs with the infrared sensor
and linux (RedHat and SuSE are the two that have been tested). Go to
www.sourceforge.org and search for Polar and/or HRM.

I would find out what chipset is in your IR adapter and check that company
website.

That's what I had to do so I could get my 725 to synch up with XP x64.

Polar said I need to get a Polar IrDA USB 2.0 Adaptor that costs 60 dollars.

Two questions:

Are they right or is it a driver issue? and if they are right can I get a
cheaper adaptor, or does it need to be a Polar product?
