We intended it to be fixed gear, and hence the email asking for support via pre-registration. Before I had the flyer posted I neglected to make the change. Sorry about the confusion. I have asked the webmaster to update the race flyer.

Matthew,
So I'm a little confused. Your flyer says single speed. There's a big difference between riding fixed gear (no coasting) vs single speed (coasting). Single speed would be much faster on your course. So which is it?
SINGLE SPEED
32 miles
2
10:15
3 Deep
Thanks,
Darell

Subject: [OBRA Race] Three Rivers Road Race - Possible fixed gear category
Three Rivers Racing is making it a habit to listen and give the racing community what it wants.
In response to complaints that there weren't enough road races available in the summer we presented the first Woodland Road Race in late August of 2006.
Now, in response to disappointment that a fixed gear category wasn't able to make it onto the schedule of the 2007 Cherry Pie race we would like to offer a fixed gear category for the inaugural Three Rivers Road Race in Rainier, OR on April, 22nd.
Rainier, Oregon is just across the river from Longview, WA. Approximately one hour from Portland, OR and one and one quarter hours from Olympia, WA
In order for us to offer a fixed gear category we need at least ten fixed gear preregistrations by the end of March so let your fixed gear friends that aren't included in this
distribution know about this, we want to make it happen.
Thanks to our friends at the Athlete's Lounge, online preregistration is available and easy: http://www.athleteslounge.com/events/event.php?eventid=2072

We hope to see you out there.
