What a kick to be at the brand new velodrome in Mallorca spain and watch a
rider frm Mallroca win the worlds points race championships

The crowd is packed. The race is very agressive with multple small packs of
riders gaining laps. It is confusing if you do not watch points races. The
announcers frequently lost track on who was the leader on the track. They
are screaming
Venga Venga
as the spainard gains his first lap
screaming
muy bueno my bueno as he gets his second
screaming
fantastico fantastico
as he gets his third and twice during teh last 25 laps he takes his hands
off the bars and waves to the rapid crowd.
What fun!
Not such a good day for the americans. Michael Creed was dead last in his
qualifier heat to advance to the points race. Becky Quinn got third in the
scratch race by pushing herself through a box that I saw no room in. But
she got relegated for the move. Funny since during the race a couple of
other riders passed not only on the blue band but down on the apron. Oh
well it is what it is.
We go back today for the finals in the sprints and Keirin. I have a secret
crush on Theo Bos so it will be fun.
