Harsh though it is, I agree. Nothing would make people bring wheels faster than having no spares and a few people stranded until they could be picked up. Also, there was no excuse for not bringing them as there was an e-mail sent out that said there was no neutral support and that it would be wheels in/wheels out. For those who do not know what that means, it means "bring spare wheels or good walking shoes."

When I was racing, I brought spare wheels just in case I got a flat warming up. I assumed that if I didn't have spare wheels in a car, that I would be out of luck if I got a puncture or mishap. If I had wheels in a car and they were taken without my knowledge to be used as spares in another race and I had to wait for the race to finish before I could get them back, I would be furious.
What's wrong with "nobody in this race brought spare wheels so there will be no spares?"

Subject: [OBRA Chat] POC thanks and comment
I was a follow driver for a couple races yesterday. I am pleased to say that other than the aforementioned bottle toss, which I witnessed, both races I followed went off quite well. Thanks to everybody who participated for a nice, clean event. Thanks especially to the downed rider who we helped in the Master 4/5 race for your good spirits in spite of being involved in a wreck and abandoning. We all hope the guys involved in the crash in the 3?s make a speedy recovery.
OK, now one harsh comment.
None of the afternoon women brought any spare wheels. Five minutes before the race started, we had a wheel car with no wheels to give out. If it wasn?t for the three Master 4/5 men who brought in wheels late (which we in turn ?borrowed? so the women would have wheels), there would have been no wheels at all for you. Thanks by the way to the three 4/5s who didn?t know their wheels had been taken, and patiently waited for their wheels to arrive after the women?s race.
This happened at last year?s event as well, coincidently with the women. Now I am not trying to single anyone out here, but I am trying to make a point. If you don?t know if there will be neutral support at a race, bring wheels. Better yet, assume that there will NOT be neutral support wheels provided, and bring them anyway.
Again, thanks to everyone for coming out and racing. We hope to see you again next year.
