In 2006, the BTA taught 5,180 Oregon kids about Bicycle Safety
Education. Volunteers gave nearly 2,500 hours to the program last year
alone.
The future of biking lies with our kids...and volunteering to help
teach kids how to ride safely on neighborhood streets is a great way to
invest in that future! We badly need volunteers to help BSE
instructors escort kids on neighborhood rides, and to help with
after-school classes. Please help!
I apologize for the short notice, but I welcome you to attend a free
training that will explain the role of volunteers and provide
background on the content of our program. A full schedule of spring
volunteer opportunities will be available at the training, and we can
talk with you in more detail about your interests, skills and schedule.
VOLUNTEER TRAINING:
Date: Wednesday, April 11th
Location: BTA Office, 1979 SW 5th Avenue (at Jackson St, near PSU)
Time: 6:00-7:00 pm
Refreshments: Free pizza & drinks!
RSVP: please let us know if you're coming by contacting:
anna@bta4bikes.org -or- 503.226.0676 x19
If you can't make the training, but still want to help out, just let me
know. The training is not a requirement, just a good introduction.
Cheers!
