Mike Murray

I was contacted today by the management at PIR today. They were bothered by
2 items:

1) Water bottles - It seems that they find water bottles all over the
property. Today they found some on the track. Please make sure that you do
not discard bottles and fail to pick them up. If you drop one go back and
pick it up. This is one of those "your mother doesn't work here" deals.
Even better don't discard them at all. It is just fine to leave them on
your bike. They won't impair your massive sprint.

2) Safety pins - Lots of pins end up on the ground in the area where we do
registration which is their hot lap area for race cars. A pin picked up in
a race car tire is a problem. Please police your pins better.

We are very privileged to have PIR as a venue. It would be disastrous to
bike racing in Oregon if this venue was to go away. Please pay attention to
these 2 issues as well as the usual pick up your litter, don't pee in
public, etc.

Trying to move on to another topic........thinkaboutit!
Today started kinda soft then became.......EPIC. This course was all about power. I did not seem to have much power, but still managed to have tons of fun. People all around me were sufferin' so very much, it made me realize why I hurt so much. I hurt so much it transcended into a form of Mudvana. Things seemed to just gloss over and became all fluid. The lakes were the same as the run-up and the pavement was the same as the gravel. Losing my line was the same as holding my line. The rain washed my sins away and I was one with the bike and mud. Oh did I mention that Don Leet returned to our fold and CRUSHED the course. Good to have you back Don. You give us someone to chase...next time slow down some so we do not lose sight of you however.
This really was a fun course even though it was hard. Thanks much Crusade and OBRA. You help us be centered and reach Mudvana.

i don't know what it is like this year, but based on past years.. the 4/5's pace on monday night are typically the same, a lot of times slightly harder, then the  3/4's on tuesday night.  But it depends on who shows up.

Anybody know what side the numbers go on tonight for PIR? I only brought one

to work with me so it would be very helpful to know before I ride over.

Just a couple of things.



Even if you have a season pass you need to sign in. Please, it is really

hard to get results out when some of the riders are not on the list.



In the past we used to have experienced riders ride alongside of the 4/5's

and offer coaching. Last night Team Rubicon did that and it seemed to be

real well received. I'd like to ask others to do that. Especially as

seeing the line held in the final sprint. If you and a few teammates could

do that while you are warming up and then pull out the last lap I think it

would be an invaluable service
