17H06 - Lance's Tour de France Has Begun!

Lance Armstrong waited patiently all day long, but when the climb to the

summit of l'Alpe d'Huez began there was no doubt about his winning

intentions for the day - he beat Ullrich by over 2 minutes to win the stage!





17H05 - A Two-Handed Victory Salute For Lance

Lance has crossed the line with a two-handed victory salute at the same time

that Ullrich has passed under the 1km to go banner.







17H03 - Lance Dances Some More

Not content with his 1'55" lead on Ullrich, Lance has jumped up from the

saddle to push his advantage more.







17H03 - Final Kilometer For Lance

Lance is now in the final kilometer of the stage. He will win the stage by

well over a minute. Jan has come back a little - he is now 1'55" behind

Lance.







17H02 - Ullrich Still 2'00" Behind Lance

The Lance/Jan battle which was predicted for the 2001 Tour de France has

come to fruition today. But the defending Tour champion is well ahead today.

He is still 2'00" ahead of last year's runner-up.
