Hello,
Does anyone have an extra pass to the Columbia Employee's store. I am looking to get some clothes for the kids and this is a great opportunity. In thanks, I would behappy to make a donation in your name to the BTA or OBRA.
Cheers,
Spencer

Brian,
Getting that data is fairly involved because of all the sources of
money and how they are spent. For instance, the State collects a gas
tax but so do a number of cities and counties. Then you would need
to research where property taxes are being used for transportation,
what cities have transportation utility fees, which cities are using
revenue from utility franchise fees, parking revenue, state and
county vehicle registration fees, etc. On top of all that you would
need to find out who is charging transportation system development
charges and at what level. Then you'd need to find out expenditures
by private developers on transportation infrastructure. So you see,
it is quite the research project. It would be incredibly valuable
information, but we don't have the capacity to do the research
ourselves.
I understand there was a report put out by the Victoria
Transportation Institute over a decade ago, but I'm not sure if that
was specific to Canada.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Best regards,
Karl

In summary, 13% of the Oregon Transportation budget is derived from the Gas
tax and vehicle registration fees.

I read a lot of stuff, Oregonian, BikePortland, BTA press releases, etc.,
but I have never seen anything that directly describes where the funds for
our roads come from. I would love to see a real number or a pie chart or

George/ those who might care,
Funny how they figure out a way to let you spend even when terminated! I guess someone has a job trying to keep you from auto-terminating! That has nothing to do with cars and bikes... just marketing I assume. I told paypal to pack it long ago and just deleted there cries of "Wolf!"

there is a similar one for PayPal stating that your account will be closed if you do not log in to the link provided on the e-mail. I received three or four without responding, then received an e-mail saying my account was terminated.
Of course, it was a scam as I still manage to buy crap I do not need on ebay using PayPal. I probably would be wealthier if my account had been terminated.

Hey for all of you that may have old school dial up and it is with PeoplePC.com,
be aware, there is a scam email going around asking you to update your account info for payment, it even says final notice and directs you to PeoplePC update account dept and asks for credit card info, don't do it.....I called PeoplePC after I received this email 3 times in a row with an urgent notice, they said my account was fine, no problems....

PayPal, eBay, ...
All of these are phishing schemes. Even 'free' Tax filing services on the internet are home to these identity theft rings. I do Computer/virus security as part of my job and you would be amazed at the number of people who fail to protect themselves. At the risk of over-stating the obvious here are some simple things you can do to protect yourself:
1 - If you ever get a notice from a bank that you have never dealt with, delete the message! Even if ou think that a relative may have had a relationship with the bank and you somehow were listed as a conact. Banks will send a registered letter or call you and have you come into the nearest office if something is that pressing.
2 - That fellow from Nigeria... he lives in South Africa (or S. America... or Moscow... or...) and there are not millions of dollars to be funneled out of the country.
3 - NEVER give out your SSN over the internet.
4 - If it sounds to good to be true... well.
