Dyooood, I used to live in West Linn...there are tons of stuff out there...I miss the riding out there...it would only take me something like 15 minutes to get out of traffic. I don't have names of roads and stuff, but a start is to go over the West Linn/Oregon City bridge and ride outside of Oregon City. There is an intersection, something and Stanford Rd. You can either cross Stanford and climb up a tough little climb for one way or make a right on Stanford Rd and after ½ mile or so you'll get a good shoulder then after about 5 miles of riding basically no traffic. Another way to start a ride is going up Pete's Mtn...you'd make a turn onto...10th street I guess...you pass a bar named 'Cheers', which takes you to a Willamette River park and the road curves and turns into Pete's Mtn. You can also do a little loop around West Linn and LakeO which is 20 miles...but again, I need maps to remember the routes. I don't live there anymore.

Mtn biking...sorry Portland area sucks for mtn biking (it's pretty sad). Closest to West Linn is Molalla Trails system in Molalla. Next closest is Mt Hood (which still has snow). Third closest is Tillamook.

I have some friends that are new to Portland, West Linn actually. anyway they're a bit frustrated with the narrow roads and close traffic. any recommendations for good routes out of West Linn?

also any good recommendations for nearby mountain biking for them?

thanks,
