Thanks to all 260 guys and gals who came out to test their tire
choice and the slinging of the Mud. The day was nice with brief rain
showers 2 hrs into the event and the competition was fierce. Evan
Plews (Capitol Subaru) took home the overall by a 2 foot margin over
Erik Tonkin (S & M) with Barry Wicks (KONA) taking third. For the
Women Karen DeWolf took home the overall Pro/Expert race followed by
Alice Pennington at 1 minute. The best part of this year was all the
Singlespeeds and all the ladies. A normal Mudslinger will have 10%
female and this year it was approaching 15-20% and that is awesome.
Special thanks to Peak Sports, Specialized, Clif Bar,Thule, Great
harvest Bread of Corvallis---Bread for 250 please! Squirrels,
Cytomax, cyclone Bicycle Supply, Collins Cycle Shop of Eugene,
Corvallis Cyclery, Pearlizumi, Woody's fenders, Deschutes Brewery,
Genuine Innovations, Primal Wear for the 100 free pairs of socks!,
and my Family for serving up the soup I will be posting the
unofficial results late monday or Tuesday and please e-mail me if
