The Death Ride (aka Tour of the California Alps) is a challenging,
beautiful, and well-supported ride centered at Markleeville, CA (not
far south of Lake Tahoe). The route ascends 5 mountain passes covering
~125mi w/ a total of ~15K' of climbing. State highways are closed to
auto traffic on 4 of the 5 passes. The scenery is awesome. The ride is
put on by the Alpine County CofC and Alpina Cycling to benefit local
organizations. They've been doing it awhile and do a very good job of
it. For full details on the ride, see www.deathride.com.

Entries are by lottery (or by showing up the day of the ride and hoping
for an abandoned slot!). I have a confirmed entry which I can't use.
It's yours for $70. Send me an email off-list to discuss details.

Thanks.

Jack
