ISO a small track bike - the shortage

Erin and List:

The lack of small track frames is a dilemma for many of us. Hope no one
minds if I post this to the list.

The truth is we are a few years too late and most of the nice, steel,
lugged, frames are pimped out and ridden on the road. The proof is here:

and http://www.fixedgeargallery.com/

If you are really patient and stalk craigslist at the end of every month,
you can find the occasional person willing to part with a bike to make rent.

If you are impatient/cheap/poor you can buy a low end, ready made bike at my
LBS (ie: Fuji, KHS, etc.) or just a cheap bike or frame/fork online from
some place like this:* http://tinyurl.com/2lzht5

*For slightly more I would consider this frame and fork or something similar
(maybe Soma):

And, for a little more than that, you can call Ira Ryan and have him build
you a beautiful custom frame. If I had the means, I would definitely rather
there be more beautiful, custom, steel lugged bikes in the world than
ready-made Fujis, KHS, Specialize, etc.

Good luck!
