City Commissioner Sam Adams Visiting Bicycle Races on May 21

Portland City Commissioner Sam Adams is visiting the Oregon Bicycle Racing
Association¹s (OBRA) bicycle races at Portland International Raceway (PIR)
on Monday, May 21 from 6-8 p.m. Portland bicycle racers have been gathering
at the PIR for more than 30 years, which has provided racers an easy and
unique venue for racing.

Commissioner Sam Adams will tour the racetrack area, meet with OBRA
management, chat with racers, become an honorary OBRA race official and
start the races. Media interviews can take place at any time during the
visit.

This event will give the OBRA community an opportunity to share how they
have benefited from this venue with the commissioner. Since its inception in
the late 1970s, OBRA¹s membership has grown to more than 3,000, which is the
highest per capita of racers in the United States.

³Portland is an amazing place to host bicycle events, and showing
Commissioner Sam Adams what a great resource PIR is to racers is very
important,² said Jim Anderson, race organizer of Monday Night Bicycle Races,
³We have thousands of racers that use and enjoy the venue.²

The mission of OBRA is to promote and develop the sport of bicycle racing in
Oregon by providing the tools and resources necessary for competition. OBRA
values safety, participation, sportsmanship, teamwork, camaraderie and fun.
For more information about the racing on weekly racing at PIR on Monday and
