THANKS to everyone that supported and/or participated in the second anual
Eric Kautzky Memorial Track Race, held at Alpenrose Velodrome on May 12,
2007. Because of your generosity, your love of competition, and your sense
of community with other cyclists, Team Rose City is proud to announce that a
total of $2400 will be donated to the Eric Kautzky Memorial Scholarship Fund
at Tigard High School. Of this $2400, $750 came from entry fees, $750 from
River City Bicycles, $295.25 from individual day-of contributions, $300 from
direct-to-fund contributions, and $300 in corporate matching gift funds. In
the last two years we have donated a total of $5300 to Eric's fund from this
event.

The Eric Kautzky Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to one or two
deserving high school seniors intending to major in sports medicine or the
exercise sciences. Eric was a recently retired Tigard High School science
teacher and very well-known athletic trainer that touched the lives of
thousands of Tigard High School athletes over a span of 24 years. He lost
his life on June 18, 2005, while riding his bike on Tualatin-Sherwood Rd. He
was hit from behind by an 18-yr old driver who fell asleep at the wheel.

Just like last year, Eric's wife Lorna presented the omnium awards. Please
know that Lorna has been deeply touched by the cycling community, and has
been hard at work lobbying the Oregon state legislature on our behalf for
tougher laws to protect us when we are out on the road.

We will be back again next year, for the THIRD annual Eric Kautzky Memorial
Track Race, tentatively scheduled for May 10 (rain date May 11), 2008. Let's
hope that date will be free of any other cycling events that weekend, so
that everyone that wants to race that weekend will not suffer undue
cognitive dissonance.

I'd also like to thank our volunteers from Team Rose City (Vera, Terry,
John, Alan, Paul, Evan, Gary), Meg Mautner, Miranda Duff, and Dean Reed.

Also Many Thanks to our great officials -- Ed Norton, Rick Kneuven, Gary
Meinhardt, and Mike Bennett. And thanks to Chris Peredney for first aid
support.

And to the Golden Voice of Oregon Bike Racing -- Splinter Wrenn -- thanks
for making it all fun to watch.

And Happy Birthday to Phil Sanders!

And when you get the chance, please thank our event Sponsors for their great
support:

Veloforma
Hincapie Sportswear

Nike 10//2 Cycling

See you again next year!
