Hi OBRA members...

For those of you that do training rides out eastwards and
find yourselves needing to cross 82nd Avenue on your bike to get to those
hills, this may be of interest....

*82nd Avenue of Roses High Crash Corridor Safety Project - Bikey Feedback
Required!*

Have you ever tried to cross 82nd Avenue on your bike? Do you feel bike
crossing facilities on or along the corridor are adequate / frequent enough?

The PDOT / ODOT 82nd Avenue of Roses High Crash Corridor Safety Project
partnership will be holding open houses tonight and tomorrow night, and we
want you to let us know what we can do to improve safety for all users
moving along, or across the corridor - including bikes.
* 1) SOUTHERN 82nd AVENUE OF ROSES OPEN HOUSE
TONIGHT - Tuesday May 29th, 6:00 - 8:00pm at Montavilla Community Center,

**City Transportation Commissioner Sam Adams is scheduled to attend and
speak at this Tuesday May 29th event**

The 82nd Avenue of Roses currently ranks as Portland's highest crash
corridor. PDOT and ODOT will be working closely together in partnership over
the next year to begin implementing a range of traffic safety solutions and
initatives along the corridor to improve safety for all users - bikes, peds,
transit users, and motorists.

We want to hear what you think, so come share your concerns surrouding
traffic safety along 82nd Avenue of Roses, and let us know what changes
you'd like to see implemented to improve safety, and reduce crashes,
injuries and fatalities.

For an awesome piece of background on the 82nd Avenue of Roses and traffic
safety, look no further than this recent front page Tribune article -
