A couple of updates and reminders:

The traditional Stage-1 "Oregon Trail Road Race" is being replaced for 2007 with the "Richland Oregon Trail Out-Back Road Race" due to major road construction in Pyles Canyon. We considered using a Cyclocross option but OBRA is short on crampons and repelling ropes. However, our replacement is an excellent course in its deceptively simple out and back format yet strategic and challenging terrain.

The Baker High School is once again offering gym and school ground camping on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for those choosing not to stay at one of the many hotels in town. And regardless where you stay, the Famous Friday Night Spaghetti Feed will be back.

Neutral wheel and technical support will be available, but we are asking riders to please bring extra wheels because really ? can you ever have too many? OBRA Roger will be there and says: "Go ahead, try and fill up all the wheel slots."

The marquee Elkorn event the "Gold Rush Criterium" in downtown Baker City is looking good, as rumor has it fans have already begun setting up chairs and tents. Saturday is packed with the morning Time Trial, a parade through town where racers are welcome to ride in, followed by the Shimano Youth Series racing event for children 0 - 12. This event starts at 2pm and kicks off the afternoon and evening racing in front of the entire city.

Also, new and exciting this year and thanks to local business donations we will have a matching criterium payout for the women's field, and in addition to that, some exclusive primes donated soley for the women's field complements of Bella's are included.

The grand finale of the "Dooley Mtn Road Race" at the summit of Dooley Mtn will be hosted by Elkhorn founder Nathan Hobson and the entire Hobson Family where awards presentations will be made shortly after the finish of each peleton.

Racers from all over the Western US and Canada are already registered and ready to go so we hope to see you there too!!!!!

Thank you everyone for your help, support, time, and efforts to make this event possible!!!
