(THE 2ND) WEBCYCLERY MOVIE NIGHT @ McMENAMINS
Old St. Francis School Theater in Bend, Oregon
The Bend Premiere of 24 Solo
9:00 p.m. | $5 per person | 21 & over
From the Award-Winning Producers of Off Road To Athens, comes a mountain bike movie like no other.
24 Solo follows the gut-wrenching story of Team Trek rider Chris Eatough on his quest for a 7th World Title in the unforgiving discipline of 24 Hour Solo mountain bike racing. In the face of increased pressure from sponsors, new competitors to the sport and a pregnant wife, Chris focuses his entire season on one race. Dark horse Australian National Champion, Craig Gordon challenges Chris to a level of intensity and exhaustion that leaves one rider hospitalized.
Shot on locations in China, California, Wisconsin, Maryland and Georgia using High Definition cameras, with an amazing array of camera angles set to original music from the award-winning Haik Music studio, 24 Solo shows the passion, excitement and intensity of the most grueling event in mountain biking.
Kevin Gorman, a film critic known for his thumbs-up and thumbs-down reviews with his brother and fellow critic, Mean Todd, has praised 24 Solo and heralded it as "The sweetest 24 hour mountain bike racing movie ever!" Mean Todd continued the accolades and added, "As long as you're going to be at McMenamins drinking a beer, you might was well be watching 24 Solo at the same time."
While WebCyclery Movie Night at McMenamins is a fund raiser for Central Oregon Trail Alliance (cotamtb.org), it is mostly an excuse to get together with 120 like-minded cyclists to watch a kick-ass bicycle movie, drink a beer, and maybe win a cool door prize.
