What a night! Records were falling all over the place! Three women came in
under the six year old 500m record, besting the time by nearly a second. Not
to be outdone, Marty Nothstein showed exactly why he is an Olympic Gold
Medalist when he shorted the men's kilometer record by 1.6 seconds and made
it look easy.
The local riders made a strong showing as well. Darrel Provencher earned
first place in the Masters Kilometer, Morgan Montgomery placed third in the
men's kilometer and 8 local riders qualified to ride with the 'big boys' in
the Saturday and Sunday Alpenrose Challenge events.
