Kris Schamp
Greetings OBRA racers,
We are just two weeks away from the 3rd edition of the Clif Bar Portland MTB Track Series. Here are a couple updates that I thought you might be interested in.
1) Last week to pre-register!
You still have one week left to pre-register for the series. If you send in your pre-registration form (with signed waiver and check) by Monday June 18, you will not only be able to skip the registration line on race days, but you will also receive a goodie bag at your first race, courtesy of our sponsors. And if you buy a series pass, we'll let you race all six races for the price of five!
To pre-register, go to www.portlandracing.com/registration.html
2) NEW - Sport Women 40+, Sport Men 40+ and Sport Men 50+ Master categories.
By popular demand, we will add a Sport Women Master 40+ category. The master women will race at the same time as the Sport Women Open. The Sport Men Master category will be split into two age groups: Sport Men Master 40+ and Sport Men Master 50+. Both categories will race at the same time as the Sport Men Open at 7pm.
3) Sign up now for your very own, personalized race plate!
Like last year, we plan to use custom, weather-proof plates, which you'll have to pick up at the registration tent at your first race. And if you respond to this e-mail by end of this week (Fri 6/15), we'll get you a very cool, *free*, personalized race plate.
More info: http://www.portlandracing.com/race-plate-07.html.
4) Wanted: volunteers.
We are still looking for a couple hands to help out with registration, lap-counting, course marshaling, and tear down. If you (or your friends, partners, kids, etc.) are interested in helping out - and get to race for free while you're at it - just shoot me an e-mail.
That's it for now. We are looking forward to seeing you at the races!
~Kris

PS: Next Sunday, I am helping out Petr Kakes with another fun, pre-series short track race at Skibowl. For more info go to http://www.obra.org/flyers/2007/shiloh_super_sunday.html.
This will definitely be a great test, just one week ahead of our series kick-off.
