Hey,

Thanks to all of you for making the dry friday and wet by Sunday
edition of the 3rd T.O.E 50 and 1st Singlespeed championships. The
drizzle let up for the start at 9am and 100 geared bikes and 28
sinlgespeeds made the trek Mass start for 50 miles and 7500 ft of
mountain bike adventure. With the course record at 3:47 by erik
tonkin in 2006 and a dry course this edition in the rain proved
slower by 15-30 minutes with one exception---Capitol Subaru's Evan
Plews who came in at 3:55 to claim 1st overall and the only person
under 4 hrs. In the team event it was a stacked Capitol Subaru #1
Team taking on S&M (The 2006 TEam Champions) Team S & M was
represented by Team Captain and NOT racing Erik Tonkin. Erik Chose
his Teams wisely, and had Team S&M the "past" and Team S&M the
"Future" Time went by and at just over 4 hrs riders came in Mud
soaked and worked over-----and as time went by Team S&M "The Future"
led by Luke Pennington beat Capitol Subaru 16:52 (4 riders) to
Capitol's 17:01(4 riders)----9 minutes of combined time. Tim Butler
and Sue Butler prevailed over max and Allison paulus in the Couples
competition and Sue Butler(5:04) came within 2 minutes of the course
record (5:02) for the Women. In the masters 40+ team comp
bicycleattorney.com came away with the win----even with Martin Baker
riding half Blind for a lap.
