Hello again everyone and welcome to the final countdown to the 6th riding of the Elkhorn Classic Stage Race in sunny Baker City, OR. We are loading up the motorcycle with a finish trailer, an OBRA tent or two, a pencil and clipboard, and an official, which should be enough to get this party started.

*** Registration is now officially closed and we are happy to announce that all field sizes equal or exceed last year's numbers with a total ridership of 363.
*** The payout for the GC and stage totals has been confirmed to match last year's total with extra payouts for the crit primes to be announced. Also remember, the women's crit field prize totals are being matched to the Men's Pro/1/2 fields compliments of Bellas in Baker City (www.bellabakercity.com), making Elkhorn a Cash payout of over $10,000.
*** The weather will be perfect. Or close. Should be sunny and hot, of course it might be different too. Show up to find out.
*** Once again the Baker High School gym, grass, and locker rooms are available (Thu-Fri-Sat)for those wishing to stay at race HQ. Checkin opens Thursday from 6pm - 9pm and Friday 8am - 1pm.
*** Molly Carlson will be available all weekend for massages, 20 min only $20. She will be in town on Thursday but by appt only so let her know (molly@velorub.com)
*** The reknown Friday Night Spaghetti feed returns once more to the high school cafeteria. Can you say Free Refills?
*** We are looking for a few riders to take part in the Leo Adler Day's parade in downtown Baker City after the morning Time Trial, but well before the evening crits.
*** The 0 - 11 Kiddie Kilo event is being run in conjunction with a bike safety program and racers are invited to share with young local children what it's like to ride and race bikes! Here's your chance to be an ambassador to OBRA!
*** As noted, the Dooley Summit finish area is being hosted the Elkhorn founder Nathan Hobson his wife Claire, and the Hobson family. Come on out for the finish and awards presentation shortly after the finish of each peleton.
*** As in the past, a school bus shuttle will be running between the city limits and the bottom of Dooley pass (Hwy 7 & 243 Jct).
*** As always, Elkhorn attracts riders from all over the Pacific Northwest, Canada, the Midwest, the Rockies, and the western US. If you or your company would like to contribute race packet material, prime or stage, prizes please let us know.
*** Finally, that gentle reminder that we are ambassadors of our sport and while Baker City loves Elkhorn, and we love the town, it only takes a few to spoil it for everyone so keep up the great work, ride smart, ride safe, thank the town and remember you don't represent just your team, but OBRA, racers, and all cyclists!!!
