No we do not watch them specifically , however things left near or around
the truck my bike etc are monitored better than lets say the rails at the
warm up ring.

toss your ID and credit cards in a freezer bag along with your cell phone and put it in your jersey back pocket. Put yoru keys there too. Leave your bag with non-critical information by the OBRA truck....

never had a problem, but I always carry anythign personally identifiable or financially critical (CC's) with me while I race.

I ride out to PIR and have always put my pack near the obra truck and never
have had a problem. I would think that everyone on that side of the raceway
is a racer, and therefore are of course inherently honest folks. I do like
to borrow a pump from the Murry's car every now and then.

Yeah, and to extend Dan's idea, I would pay a lot more than a buck or two if
I could "ski check" my kids in for the duration of the race ;)

I've always thought that this would be a great revenue generator be it for obra, the promoters or a charity - similar to a 'ski check' at the mountain. I would definately pay a small fee (like a buck or 2) for the peace of mind knowing that my stuff was protected. I ride to Tabor, PIR (short track) and I try to ride to at least one or 2 cross races, so I would definately be interested in it for those races (Though, even on races that I drive to, I'd like to check my keys so that I don't have to carry them in my jersey pocket during a race)

So, I've yet to race anything at PIR, be it road or short track. I commute
daily to downtown from the 'Couv so I'm always heading past there on Monday
nights. Problem is, I've got all my stuff with me. You know, a backpack
