Today I made the classic beginner mistake of forgetting my shoes at Battlecreek. Thank goodness for Matt on Pacific Power who very generously lent me his shoes and pedals so I could still race. Thanks again Matt! I hope to be able to pay it forward sometime.

I wanted to let everyone know that I am very grateful for all the help you have been. I have received a lot of guests at my hospitals that gave me lots of companionship as well as help. I also think I should thank everyone for all their generosity. Many people have sent me money to pay for my medical bills. (Ryan typed the above, from here on dictated to Jessi).

The money will help pay for what will surely be a long road of rehab. I feel great physically, but mentally I still have a lot of improvements to make. I plan to go to some OBRA races this summer to support the racers because I feel a strong companionship to my fellow OBRA cyclists. OBRA racers are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Also I'd like to thank people I haven't met who've come in to Corvallis Cyclery and have given me so much support and good wishes that have helped my improvement. Last but not least, I want to thank family and friends who've helped me personally at the hospital, suffering with me by trying to care for someone with a mental injury. Without their help, it would be tough to even be healthy today.

Love,
Ryan
