Hi everyone!

Hope you all had a great weekend. Here are a few updates ahead of our 4th stage of the Portland MTB Short Track Series 2007, held on the infield of PIR (more info at www.portlandracing.com).

1) Results & Series Standings:
Final results of last week's race and the series standings after the first 3 races have been posted on our web site. With another three races to go and best 5 out of 6 races counting towards the final tally, a lot can still change (and we know it will). Just bear in mind Woody Allen's famous words: "80% of success is showing up."

2) Mechanical support:
The friendly folks of Chris King have been in California all weekend and will be taking a 1-week hiatus from the superb mechanical support (and free lemonade) they have been providing at our series. But don't despair: Bike N Hike - another longtime supporter of the series - will be on duty tomorrow to provide neutral support to our racers throughout the night. Thanks Kevin and crew!

3) Weekly prizes & our *NEW* Sprocket Rocket of the Night:
The weekly prize winners of last week have been posted on our web site. For the last three races, we will be upping the ante with another weekly grand prize: our "Sprocket Rocket of the Night". The lucky winner - randomly drawn among all our racers - will receive a very cool set of two Yakima Sprocket Rocket bike carriers (retail value: $300!) generously donated by our sponsor Yakima. Thanks Yaks!

4) More prizes!
Like last week, we'll do a first-lap prime for the Sport, Singlespeed, Expert and Pro categories tomorrow (6-pack of Pyramid brew or 4-pack of Tazo drink). I also have some exciting news about the bigger prizes we'll have up for grabs at our grand series raffle. Series sponsors Trek and Giant are both throwing in a state-of-the-art bike frame this year. One is a Trek 69er singlespeed frame, the other is a Giant cyclocross frame. I also got word from Chris King that they will join the grand prize frenzy with some very cool bling. Stay tuned for more details on that one... We will raffle off these grand prizes at our series finale among all riders who raced 4 or more races in this year's series, so make sure to keep on racing to get your name in the running!

That's it. Hope you are all as amped as we are for another night of short track fun!

See you tomorrow at the races.

~Kris
