Fine with me. Lower the entry fees and get rid of the prize money except for the pros. Given the cost of gas, the gas usually costs more than the prize money anyway.

much of their limited amount of organizational energy on developing a prize
list when that energy would be better spent on other aspects of putting on a

Just an idea for this or future races....I've been to a few races where the women's purse is based on registration. The prize list will be "50% of all registration." So, if 6 women race at $15 each, then the full purse is $45. If 15 women register.... -Heather VanValkenburg Does this bike make my butt look fast?

recent attendance riders are virtually guaranteed of
leaving with money...

Of course...A better question remains why ANY AMATEUR
bike racer gets paid cash for racing?

Don't even try the "it's so expensive to race"
argument...Look at triathlon, 24-Hour MTB, Adventure
Racing, Road Running, and numerous other sports with
HIGHER entry fees and no payouts...
