Greetings all!

Monday's short track race #5 was another one for the books: despite the cooler temperatures and a major downpour about a half hour before the races started, 242 racers and another 25 kiddie racers showed up to contest our second-to-last evening of short track racing. As always, the course was a blast and it looks like everyone had a great time!

The preliminary results of Monday's races are posted at:

We plan to post the final results, series standings and our last round-up of weekly prize winners on Friday

Short track racer Scott Barker also wrapped up another action-packed video that shows you what short track fun is all about. Check it out at:

Finally, I want to pass along some details on the special team relay "ultra short track" race we have planned for our final night of racing, next Monday at PIR. The team relay race will be staged on the motocross track , right after the Pro/Expert race (start at 8:15pm). We plan to stage 10 teams of 10 racers who each will get to race only one lap. Since we will only be using the motocross track, these laps will be ultra-short, ultra-fast and ultra-fun to race or watch. The hand-off between racers of the same team will be done madison-style (touch-and-go, with or without the slinging).

Right now, we have already slots reserved for the following 6 teams: Veloshop, Bike Gallery, River City Bicycles, Team S&M, Half Fast Velo/Forza Jet, bicycleattorney.com. The remaining four slots are open on a first-come basis. Smaller teams are allowed to bundle forces with another team or recruit racers from other teams (except teams that are already on the team relay roster). Note: the team relay race is free but only racers who raced and paid for a regular race next Monday can participate in the team relay. If you like to sign up or you have any questions, just shoot me an e-mail (kris@portlandracing.com).

Cheers!
~Kris
